Job Title : Distribution Designer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Designer to join our team in North Carolina. The role involves supporting power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects. You will be working on significant initiatives that include replacing deteriorating cables, transitioning overhead lines to underground, reconductoring existing distribution lines, and replacing aging poles.
Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations and design for power distribution projects.
Conduct structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, and fault currents.
Coordinate protective devices for distribution systems.
Collaborate with a diverse team to execute project plans effectively.
Essential Skills
A minimum of 2 years of electric utility distribution design experience.
Proficiency in distribution design software such as BOUD, Maximo, Smallworld, Bentley Open Utility Designer, and Microstation.
Understanding of primary and secondary distribution systems and utility standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a two-year associate degree with relevant experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience interacting with customers and developers for distribution projects.
EIT certification or having passed the Engineering Fundamentals Exam is a plus.

Our office is located near downtown, providing easy access. The power group consists of 40 people within a total office of over 100 professionals. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 / hr.
