Job Summary
Manage and develop a Quality System to comply with customer requirements, including tracking quality issues, coordinating quality activities, monitoring and improving quality levels, developing and maintaining product inspection activities, and maintaining compliance with ISO 9000.
Requirements for the Position
- QA / Quality Engineer experience with Toyota or OEM
- Strong root-cause analysis skills and critical thinking
- Background in metal stamping quality is a plus
- Deadline- and detail-oriented
- Solid negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Able to read basic and advanced part prints
- Understanding of ANPQP system and requirements
- Ability to read basic measuring equipment

Provide technical support and quality reports to customer PQE / Process Engineer to improve customer relationship and serviceWork closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production assembly occurs with no loss or downtimeManage and develop quality system to comply with customer requirementsEnsure workstation and operator have a standard process to deliver high quality, with written reaction plansRespond to quality issues to satisfy customer needsTrack quality issues and ensure they do not leave the plantControl, track, and maintain quality records / documentationSecure ISO 9000 documentation as required by law; most documents are scanned and stored electronicallyMonitor internal and external PPM to improve quality and reduce complaintsCoordinate internal audits and corrective actions for continuous improvementCoordinate quality activity or engineering changes with the customer and other Topre facilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate engineering changes and ensure operator awarenessSupport engineering / manufacturing to improve poke-yoke (error-proofing) for toolingImplement root cause analysis and countermeasure plansDevelop and maintain product inspection activities including checking fixtures and gauge calibration, training inspection technicians, processing inspection data, and managing rework activitiesConduct unannounced workstation reviews and train operators to correct abnormalitiesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in the automotive Tier 1 supplier functionUnderstanding of PPAP activity and Nissan ANPQPCompliance with ISO 9000Ability to apply Six Sigma tools to determine root causes of quality issuesKnowledge of 3D CAD and its application for product measurementEducation and Experience
2 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Supervisor in a manufacturing / assembly environment4-year engineering degree in any engineering field or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) designationSpecial Requirements
Must be able to work weekday, weekend, and holiday schedules as needed. May work day or night shifts. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Walking, standing, kneeling, and stooping will be required 90% of the time.
