This position is for a Multifunctional Engineering Manager in the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) IPT. The role collaborates well in a team environment and requires excellent communication skills. You will represent the PBCS IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The PBCS IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS, which is an attitude control and propulsive subsystem.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead our PBCS Subsystem Team. You will lead the team as we prepare for PDR in 2026. You will manage a team of 20+, in addition you will be responsible for the budget and schedule and reporting status of each directly to senior leadership and our Navy partners. The PBCS Subsystem team is responsible for all external interfaces of the PBCS to other sub-systems and meeting top level sub-system requirements. The team will also manage internal interfaces between components and ensure the component teams are maturing technical fidelity to meet PDR criteria.

The successful candidate will be a full spectrum leader, build lasting partnerships with our Navy counterparts, focus on financial and strategic objectives, and work closely with a range of other leaders on FBM. The candidate will be expected to aid in the hiring process as the team grows. It will be critical to build a team culture focused on meeting program commitments while maintaining technical discipline.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in Engineering Development (SRR / PDR / CDR)
  • Experience in systems engineering and / or development of propulsion hardware or systems
  • Demonstrated team leadership or prior management experience
  • You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TS clearance
  • Desired Skills :

  • Missile and / or aerospace related education or experience
  • Experience Satellite or Missile Propulsion
  • Prior management experience
  • Experience with FBM processes and products
  • Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; applies systems thinking to solve sophisticated problems
  • Experience in EVM
  • Risk and opportunity experience with continuous improvement concepts
  • Experience in cost analysis, schedule, and risk & opportunity management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative
  • Security Clearance Statement :

    This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Clearance Level : Top Secret

  • Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week; some may be condensed, providing additional time away from the office. This is in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position : 9x80 every other Friday off
  • Compensation and Benefits

    Pay Range : The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate's final work location. This range is a general guideline and factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, market and business considerations are used when extending an offer.
