Assistant Materials Manager is part of Materials Management plant team responsible for procurement of raw materials, production planning, inventory control and shipping teams in Tennant North America plants. The Assistant Materials Manager will lead and complete monthly Sales and Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP), and work collaboratively with Business Unit, Global Supply, Operations and Finance leadership ensuring SIOP cycle completion. This individual will also be responsible for the direct management and leadership of the Production Planning and Inventory Control Teams. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and / or leading Materials Continuous Improvement initiatives.
GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES :Responsible for compiling SIOP monthly data and working with Business Unit, Global Supply, Operations and Finance on alignment and consensus for the future months’ production plansReporting out on SIOP and preparing executive SIOP decksResponsible for inventory level reporting and forecasting for annual and monthly forecast, reporting out and driving actions for optimal inventory levelsLeading and collaborating with stakeholders on Materials department process improvements and continuous improvement projectsLearn and maintain knowledge of all materials department functions, lead, and coordinate training efforts for the departmentLeads and manages Materials TeamAssist in metric development and drive accountabilityREQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION :
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business and / or equivalent of 5 years of experience in Materials Management, Operations, and / or Supply ChainLean and / or Six Sigma Continuous certified, and / or 3 years of experience in Continuous Improvement projectsPrior Sales and Operations Planning experience preferredPrior Supervisory and / or Management experience requiredPrior SAP experience requiredREQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS : In addition to the General Responsibilities, the following are requisite interpersonal and behavior skills of the position as well as :
