Location : Meriden, CT

Responsibilities

  • Manage Detector Test, Assembly, and Fabrication manufacturing departments.
  • Lead and motivate all subordinates to fulfill schedules, improve control costs and quality.
  • Train, coach and supervise employees to attain optimum performance; promote an atmosphere for teams to reach their best.
  • Employer, interview, monitor and conduct disciplinary methods for all subordinates.
  • Work with Material Manager and Planner to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Conduct routine audits of equipment and ensure routine maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Design, prepare and record test and manufacturing methods to ensure high quality and efficiency.
  • Comply with QA standards and documentation requirements to assure high quality products.
  • Conduct routine one-on-one meetings with direct reports to ensure communication and feedback on the health and condition of the functional areas.
  • Write and present employee performance reviews and recommend merit increases at scheduled periods.
  • Be involved in development and administration of rewards program for high achievers.
  • Maintain feasible schedules of entire product teams and expedite material as needed.

Essential Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the Detector Test, Fabrication, and Assembly areas.
  • Assign daily tasks.
  • Track, monitor, and achieve department KPIs.
  • Review and approve Detector product manufacturing plan.
  • Monitor Lean Daily Management and report findings.
  • Direct and train subordinates in performance of their duties.
  • Maintain germanium and cryostat inventory.
  • Ensure production equipment is properly maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with QA standards and documentation requirements.
  • Determine reworks and assign crystals to orders and troubleshoot test, assembly, and fabrication problems.
  • Maintain Detector Database.
  • Additional Duties

  • Foster an atmosphere that enables the team to achieve the best of their skills.
  • Requirements

  • Demonstrated mastery of Detector Test department procedures.
  • Demonstrated skill in general Ge spectrometry methods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Ge detector related products and accessories.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mirion ERP procedures with respect to Detector production.
  • Ability to assign tasks to others and verify follow through.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other individuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and skill in statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of Lean 6S.
  • Experience and Education

  • More than 6 years in technical field. Bachelors degree in technical field may substitute for 4 yrs required experience.
  • Associates degree in general engineering or related field.
