Job Description

North Suffolk is looking for a Medication Specialist to join our team! The Medication Specialist will be responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of individuals in a residential setting through advocacy, teaching and coordinating care, and managing medication documentation.

What you’ll do :

  • Supervise and / or participate with individuals, based on their needs in medication, observation, documentation, refilling medications.
  • Audit the medication binder on a weekly basis and report any errors.
  • Assist individuals with medication documentation and medical appointments.
  • Document and maintain all individual records including making med sheets when new medications arrive.
  • Work directly with Nurse Manager / Case Manager.
  • Print off medication lists to send off with clients.
  • Participate in upkeep of medication room, supplies and sharps removals.
  • Attend trainings and receive weekly clinically supervision from the Nurse Manager.

What you’ll need :

  • Education : High school degree or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. CPR / First Aid Certification or ability to receive certifications required.
  • Experience : One year experience working in a setting with medication observation or dispensing preferred.
  • Skills : Must be capable of intervening during crisis situations.
