Neighborhood Healthcare PACE is a managed medical plan built around surrounding participants with a team of physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists and care coordinators to help them maintain good health and a good quality of life. Our goal is to keep our seniors happy and healthy at home surrounded by their family and community.
As a private, non-profit 501(C) (3) community health organization, we serve over 500k medical, dental, and behavioral health visits from more than 100,000 people annually. With two PACE centers located in Riverside County, our PACE program is positioned to serve over 650 senior participants.
The Medical Assistant will support various providers, advanced providers, and registered nurses to provide excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will communicate with patients and performs clinical services to ensure high quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule : M-F 8am-5pm(1 hour lunch)
Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care
- Communicates and performs clinical care services with patients
- Takes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake information
- Performs clinical procedures such as blood draws, vaccines, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGs
- Discusses patient needs and provides education and resources to patients directly
- Ensures exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and set up for examinations and procedures
Provider and Team Support
Coordinates provider workflows to ensure efficient patient careEnsures provider has all pertinent information required for each patient visit including diagnostic images, labs and required screeningsAssists other providers and care teams in women’s health, pediatrics and general medicine departments as neededClinical Administration
Utilizes electronic health records to order, process and document clinical treatment plans for patient as directed by the providerConveys information to patients via telephone or email under the direction of a provider or Registered NurseProvides patient with requested documents after review to ensure forms are complete, accurate and executed by the providerCompletes ongoing / annual training for position complianceCompliance (Safety & HIPAA)
Follow all safety procedures as outlined in Neighborhood Healthcare’s Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any injuries and / or unsafe conditions immediatelyMaintain current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practicesFollow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditionsUse appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environmentBe familiar with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exitsFollow all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocolsMaintain privacy of all patients, employees, and volunteers information and access such information only on a need-to-know basis for business purposesComply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligationsReport all behavior and / or activity that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawfulQualifications
Education / Experience
High School Diploma / GED requiredValid MA certificate from an accredited program requiredValid BLS certification in accordance with the American Heart Association Guidelines required upon hireMinimum of 1 year of experience preferredBilingual (English / Spanish) highly preferredAdditional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Pay range : $23.00 - $32.55 per hour, depending on experience.
Compensation Disclosure : The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
