This is a part-time position that will work no more than 36 hours per week. The work schedule will vary and may include weekends.

The Public Works Department plays a key role in maintaining and improving the City's infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors. The department oversees streets, traffic systems, landscaping, lighting, water, sewer, and storm drains, as well as City-owned facilities and vehicle fleets. Public Works also provides engineering, environmental compliance, and inspection services, manages capital improvement projects and recycling programs, and administers the City's solid waste franchise. Qualifications. Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be : Education : High School Diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by specialized training in construction and maintenance. Experience : Three (3) years of relevant journey-level maintenance experience. Licenses and certifications (For part-time Grounds Maintenance Worker only) : Possession of a valid California Class "C" Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions. Mobility to work in the field and to perform medium to heavy physical work. Operate a motor vehicle and visit various community sites. Vision to inspect and operate equipment. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects averaging a weight of 50 pounds or heavier weights, in all cases with the use of proper equipment and / or assistance from other staff.
