Scope
- The Test Engineer is responsible for the development, integration, sustainment, and continuous improvement of specialized Electrical, ESS (Environmental Stress Screening), and RF test equipment as indicated by customer or internal specifications
- Work within multi-disciplinary team environment and support proposal efforts and technical reviews
- Position reports to the Test Engineering Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare test plans and procedures from Customer and / or Engineering specificationsProgram, set-up, and operate various Electrical, ESS, and RF Test equipment using customer supplied dataDirect electrical analysis of test requirements for digital, analog, mixed signal, RF, and power circuitsVisually inspect electronic assemblies using various inspection equipment (Microscope, calipers, X-Ray equipment) for conformance to customer, IPC guideline specifications, and any written proceduresDevelop specialized test solutions, tooling, and fixtures to customer requirementsDesign complex test or test fixture circuitry to support automated testing by applying knowledge and principles of electronic theory, testing methodology, and electronic engineeringPerform and / or coordinate preventative maintenance on associated test equipmentIdentify, develop, qualify, and implement new test processes / equipment through DOE & capability testingProvide technical and analytical support to customers and operators regarding product quality and the testing processTroubleshoot functional test failures and work with process engineering team on root cause corrective action investigationsEssential Knowledge and Skills
Ability to read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprintsUnderstand basic forms of digital and analog circuitry; read, interpret, and apply technical information / specificationsMust be able to create detailed product test proceduresAbility to troubleshoot basic analog electronics circuitry using a DMMExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsMust have good hands on mechanical and engineering skillsDemonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projectsAbility to pass eye exam with a minimum 20 / 20 vision that may be corrected via eyeglasses or contact lenses as required; eye exam is required annuallyDue to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent ResidentEducation and Experience
Education
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferredPreferred Experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.2+ years of engineering / technical related experience, focused on test processesPrevious printed circuit board and / or RF experienceProficient in the utilization of a variety of test equipment, including : Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Power Meters, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Signal Generators, Component Analyzers, RF Network Analyzers, and Noise GeneratorsCompensation and Benefits
