Overview

Account Manager - Cybersecurity Sales - Kansas City. Sell Optiv security services and security technology solutions to select strategic accounts within a geographic territory. Own and coordinate all aspects of the sales cycle for assigned accounts and lead a cross-functional team to build and execute a multi-year strategic account management plan.

Cross-functional team typically includes a Solutions Architect, Client Operations Specialist, and services practices personnel as appropriate for the accounts. A core responsibility is developing a multi-year strategic account management plan and establishing a trusted relationship with the client to position Optiv as their primary security solution partner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build trusted, effective, and productive relationships with client executives within assigned accounts.
  • Lead creation of multi-year strategic account management plans for top accounts based on client goals and Optiv's security expertise.
  • Build a large sales pipeline within assigned accounts and achieve / exceed targeted gross margin.
  • Manage current and multi-quarter forecasts with accuracy and integrity.
  • Execute with discipline and in alignment with Force Management principles (MEDDICC and Command of the Message, among others).
  • Effectively communicate Optiv's value proposition related to security services and technologies.
  • Foster relationships with technology partners and their sales teams to generate and share leads and maximize opportunities.
  • Coordinate communications between clients, technology partners, and the extended Optiv team (technical, sales, client operations, etc.).
  • Maintain collaborative internal communications regarding opportunities, requirements, and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of product or services-based sales experience, ideally in a technology company.
  • Proven ability to build and execute territory and account prospecting plans with a track record of exceeding quotas.
  • Experience engaging cross-functional resources (sales, pre-sales technical support, and other teams) effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with key executives within assigned accounts.
  • Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Negotiation experience.
  • History of achieving and exceeding plans and expectations.
  • Desired Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen; ability to correlate goals with cyber security risk to develop complex solutions.
  • Experience in building and selling complex, multi-year hardware, software, services, and financing solutions to Fortune 1000 clients.
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure, IT security, and Risk & Compliance markets and competitors.
  • Experience selling management consulting services.
