Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the financial and operating performance of Sports Facilities Management, LLC. Objectives include :
- Optimizing overall profitability
- Creating a culture of accountability that supports organizational values
- Meeting or exceeding annual growth objectives
- Facilitating interdepartmental collaboration
- Employee retention and staff development
- Development of employee and operating policies
- Implementation of major business initiatives
Primary Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Analyze operations to evaluate performance and identify cost reduction, program improvement, or policy changesAppoint department heads or managers and delegate responsibilitiesEstablish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions among departments and sitesCoordinate with ownership, advisors, and staff to discuss issues and resolve problemsDevelop and implement budgetary control systems and administrative processesDirect and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiencyDirect human resources activities, including plans, staff selection, and department establishmentDirect, plan, and implement policies and activities to maximize returns and productivityImplement corrective action plans to solve problemsPrepare and present reports on activities, expenses, budgets, and applicable regulationsRepresent and promote the organization at official functionsServe as liaison between organizations, shareholders, and external entitiesAdminister programs for site location, construction needs, and equipment and suppliesDirect activities related to production, pricing, sales, and distribution of productsProvide strategic direction to all departmentsNegotiate or approve contracts with suppliers, distributors, and agenciesOrganize and approve promotional campaignsPrepare budgets for funding and implementation of programsReview reports and recommend approvals or changesResearch new technologies to increase efficiencySchedule and monitor ongoing training for staff on operational, safety, and legal responsibilitiesPerform any additional duties as assigned by the VP of Venue ManagementMinimum Qualifications
Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight of $1M or greaterProven management and leadership experience in the food and beverage, recreational, and entertainment industryOperational knowledge of F&B, entertainment, and sport clubs as well as parties, corporate events, and teambuildingExperience contracting or supervising others who have sold corporate sponsorships, birthday parties, corporate events, tournaments, leagues, camps, fitness programming, and related servicesExperience in marketing program managementA minimum of 7 years of management experienceOperational knowledge of risk managementAbility to identify and create opportunities to deliver revenue goalsSports programming and sports event operations expertise requiredBachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, or related field, or equivalent experienceTravel Requirements
Minimal travel as needed to trade shows and leadership conferencesWorking Conditions and Physical Demands
Ability to travel to national events and regionally by carMust be able to lift 40 pounds waist highWill be required to sit for extended periods operating a computerWill be required to conduct venue toursWork may be inside or outside in varying cold weather conditionsSalary : $1500.00 - $1800.00 per week
