Compensation Range : $26.90 - $37.66

Responsibilities

General Purpose : Provides support for employee initiatives and programs related to hiring, compensation, benefits, retention, training, workplace safety, and employee relations within Campus Dining & Auxiliary Operations. This includes staff management, SEIU employees, student employees, and / or agency labor. Responds to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. Assists in coordinating projects for the Manager of Staff Administration and the Human Resources department. May also mentor or train new or lower-level staff members.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees departmental recruitment and hiring processes for staff management, SEIU represented employees, student employees, and / or agency labor, managing forms, performance evaluations, and associated tasks for each.
  • Manages preparation of documents for appointments, promotions, salary, and related changes, as well as additional external departments as required.
  • Performs required Workday Business Processes for posting new positions, as well as closing employees out of department upon termination or resignation.
  • Performs exit interviews in collaboration with Manager and provides trends / concerns to Sr. Director of Campus Dining & Auxiliary Operations.
  • Works in collaboration with Staff Administration Manager and HR Business Partner to investigate issues and determine resolutions, ensuring University policy and procedures are applied equitably.
  • Interprets University policies to management and works with HR Business partner (and / or Labor Relations or the Student Employment Office as needed) to advise on application.
  • Works in collaboration with leadership on tracking and reporting key agency labor and student employee data tied to strategic plans.
  • Provides statistical data to Campus Dining leadership.
  • Collaborates with leadership on talent management initiatives for staff.
  • Participates in special project work and serves on teams or committees as needed.
  • Works to align departmental projects with overall human resources policies.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree Required
  • 3 years of administrative experience Required
  • Labor relations experience Preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage workflows involving multiple projects and deadlines. Required
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Required
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion. Required
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite. Required
