Job Description

Americas Gold & Silver is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Engineer to support the engineering team at our Galena Complex in Wallace, Idaho. This key technical role is responsible for executing and managing mine engineering functions including short- and mid-range planning, drill and blast design, ventilation, and infrastructure support. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Engineer and operations teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement short- and mid-range mine plans, including development and production scheduling.
• Prepare detailed drill and blast designs and support daily underground production activities.
• Monitor and update ventilation and ground control systems to maintain safe working conditions.
• Collaborate with geology, operations, and maintenance teams to support stope design, resource extraction, and production targets.
• Assist in the development of infrastructure planning such as backfill systems, dewatering, and power distribution.
• Ensure engineering compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and safety practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across mine planning, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
• Support the mentoring and technical development of junior engineers and interns.
• Prepare technical reports, plans, and documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
