The Opportunity
Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of others? Join us at CSL Plasma, where you will play a vital role in evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures. You'll be responsible for administering and supervising approved immunizations (excluding red blood cell immunizations) and providing limited emergency medical care to both donors and staff.
In this role, you will report directly to the Center Manager, working in a dynamic environment where your skills can truly shine!
The Role
- Foster Positive Relationships : Promote a welcoming atmosphere for all donors.
- Conduct Confidential Interviews : Gather essential information to assess donor suitability.
- Collaborate with Medical Professionals : Work alongside the Center Medical Director and / or Center Physician to address medically related inquiries.
- Perform Health Assessments : Review medical histories and screening results to determine donor eligibility.
- Provide Support : Notify and counsel donors on reactive test results and refer them for follow-up care.
- Explain Informed Consent : Clearly communicate procedures, risks, and immunization schedules to donors.
- Handle Emergencies : Provide routine care and escalate situations as needed, ensuring emergency kits are stocked and ready.
- Maintain Compliance : Review test results and ensure adherence to SOPs regarding donor suitability.
- Monitor Donor Health : Assess any signs that may affect a donor's ability to continue donating.
- Oversee Immunization Programs : Understand and manage hyper immune programs and antibody titer results.
- Accurate Record-Keeping : Ensure donor data is correctly logged in our electronic management system.
- Promote Safety : Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Confidentiality is Key : Safeguard all personnel, donor, and center information.
- Cross-Training Opportunities : Be open to learning in other areas to support business needs.
- Bilingual Skills : May be required to better serve our diverse community.
- Additional Duties : Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Your Skills and ExperienceEducation
Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic medical training program.Must have an active state licenseOR, state certification as an Advanced-EMT (AEMT).If graduated from a foreign medical school, must be currently licensed as a physician.Experience
Minimum of one (1) year in a healthcare environment.Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center is preferred.Ability to perform physical assessments and analyze health indicators.Capable of educating donors and staff about the benefits of plasma donation.Working Conditions
Ability to make impactful decisions in a fast-paced environment.Strong comprehension of oral and written instructions.Must be able to interact with customers and observe equipment operation.Frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.Exposure to hazardous chemicals and bloodborne pathogens; Personal Protective Equipment is required.Willingness to work overtime and extended hours as needed.Our Benefits
