Job Description

Job Summary :

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist to join our Sourcing team at SBM North America temporarily (for up to 4 months) to support immediate procurement needs. This role will focus on tactical purchasing activities — ensuring timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, vendor communications, and day-to-day procurement execution. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can quickly step in to keep procurement activities on track.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred but not required).
3–5+ years of experience in procurement or tactical buying.
Strong ERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.

Strong communication skills to manage supplier and internal stakeholder interactions.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple PO-related tasks with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

Create, issue, and track purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, shipment status, and delivery timelines.

Resolve order discrepancies, invoice issues, and delivery delays.

Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data, and reporting dashboards.

Ensure compliance with company procedures.

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Planning, logistics, finance, and marketing) to address immediate material and service needs.

Escalate supplier performance or supply risk issues as needed.

Contribute to process improvements to streamline transactional procurement.
