Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Oncology Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 21 / 2025 Duration : 52 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Local Contract Job Title : Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) Schedule : Full-time | Monday to Friday | 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM Location : Bronx, NY License Required : Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – New York State Job Summary The Oncology RN is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, developing individualized care plans, managing symptoms, and administering medications. The Oncology RN also plays a vital role in research, education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement personalized care plans for oncology patients. Identify and manage cancer-related symptoms and complications. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Participate in oncology research to improve treatment protocols. Provide emotional and educational support to patients and their families. Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, expectations, and recovery. Monitor and document patient progress, treatment responses, and medication effects. Maintain accurate and timely patient records. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Active RN license in New York State. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required. Minimum 1 year of RN experience; prior oncology experience preferred. Willingness to undergo oncology-specific training. Current BLS / CPR and ACLS certifications. IV infusion experience or willingness to obtain certification. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Availability to work 40 hours per week.
