As Director of Commercial Excellence you will lead strategic initiatives to enhance sales effectiveness and value delivery across the Institutional business. You will be responsible for driving a disciplined, data-driven approach to commercial operations through robust analytics, sales management systems, and strategic insights.

Key Responsibilities :

Commercial Strategy & Transformation :

  • Develop and execute strategies that enhance the agility, effectiveness, and efficiency of commercial operations.
  • Lead enterprise-wide transformation projects that optimize structures, metrics, and workflows for best-in-class performance.
  • Identify key areas for improvement and implement high-impact initiatives across sectors.

Sales Enablement & Performance :

  • Partner with sales leadership to embed disciplined sales processes, performance metrics, and forecasting practices.
  • Support the management of the sales pipeline and Deals Council, providing insights to guide decision-making.
  • Design and deliver tools, dashboards, and frameworks that enhance sales productivity, customer engagement, and execution excellence.
  • Market Intelligence & Insights :

  • Deliver actionable market insights to inform strategic planning, marketing, and technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional and sector leaders to understand evolving customer needs and market trends, translating them into strategic opportunities.
  • Technology & Innovation :

  • Advance Salesforce.com capabilities and drive adoption of digital tools and emerging technologies that support commercial growth.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through innovation and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership :

  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, operations, and finance to ensure alignment of commercial strategies.
  • Foster a high-performance, growth-oriented culture by guiding commercial and technical teams to align with the company's value proposition and innovation pipeline.
  • Serve as a key enabler of commercial excellence and collaboration through forums and strategic initiatives.
  • Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in technical sales or business development, along with B2B sales experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, MBA or Business Leadership, is required.
  • Proven experience in sales / business development Experience with B2B sales.
  • Experience with specialty chemical and distribution.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales revenue year over year.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor sales professional and successfully team sell.
  • Make decisions, balancing customer's needs and company goals.
  • Ability to build customer relationships quickly; versatile across different styles.
  • Ability to influence others through direct and indirect methods.
  • Sensitive to new business opportunities and creative approaches to gain.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of people in the organization.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience coaching and mentorship of sales professionals.
  • Expected travel to be 30% and will depend on the size of the assigned territory / customer base.

    The expected compensation range for this position is between $184,800.00 and $307,900.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
