Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs, select tools, materials and equipment to ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Review work progress on a daily basis, prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
Manage comprehensive construction schedule, assign appropriate resources and manage labor and wage expenses. Negotiate contracts with external vendors.
Plan and supervise a wide variety of health care construction projects from start to finish. Organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and within budget.
Collaborate with engineers, architects and designers to determine specifications of project. Plan all construction operations and schedule phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
Procure materials, equipment and supplemental services, supervise the work of union laborers, mechanics outside vendors and consultants.
Responsible for prioritizing all in house projects with executive directors for MUHC facilities.
May complete unit / department specific duties as outlined in department documents
Bachelor's degree in construction management, interior design, architectural design / studies, engineering or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities project management.
Healthcare experience.
Five (5) years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Building Trades Supervisor, or Construction Coordinator.
Additional license / certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
