Role and Responsibilities
Position Summary : Ensures projects are planned, executed, and delivered to contractual standards for tolerance and quality.
This position will be under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and / or Operations Manager.

- Pre-Project
- Analyze project plans / specifications
- Perform quantity calculations and data analysis
- Project Preparation
- Create engineering and survey files
- Select and prepare engineering equipment
- Project Execution
- Reporting
- Internal (daily logs, production, etc.)
- Client reporting
- Production Management
- Data acquisition and analysis
- Equipment Management
- Inventory, care, and maintenance of survey and engineering equipment
- Safety and Environmental
- Participate in initiatives that support compliance with State / Federal regulations and improve company programs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Knowledge of construction contracts; ability to read / analyze plans and specificationsHydrographic and conventional survey experienceExperience with HYPACK and AutoCADStrong analytical and decision-making skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to abide by and enforce company policies and proceduresAbility to comply with safety rules and regulationsAbility to work effectively and efficientlyAbility to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durationsReliability and motivationAbility to obtain TWICAbility to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisorsCompetencies : stress management / composure, teamwork, results-driven
Physical / Mental Requirements
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
Preferred Skills
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hats, safety glasses, life vests, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices (PFDs), or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and the location where the work is being done.
In addition, a Project Engineer must also be capable of :
Walking, stepping, climbing, or moving across varying heights and access parameters on job sitesStanding, stooping, twisting, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting repetitively and / or for long periodsRepetitive movements of feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and backLifting and carrying 30 lbs individually; 30–60 lbs requires additional lifting meansPushing and pulling at peak force of 150 lbsClimbing stairs and / or vertical ladders 6 ft or higherWorking in confined areas and / or at elevated heightsAdapting to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration
