Position Overview :
The Install Technician is a key contributor to the rooftop solar installation process, operating under the guidance of the Roof Lead and Foreman. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at facilitating the effective and efficient installation of solar systems while adhering to established safety standards and operational protocols. The technician will engage in essential tasks, including material handling, installation assistance, and site management, all of which are critical to the successful execution of solar projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Safely transport and stage materials on the roof to ensure a streamlined installation process, minimizing disruption to the surrounding environment
- Assist in the installation of mounting systems, rails, and solar modules, adhering to industry best practices to promote optimal system performance and longevity
- Conduct pre-installation site assessments to identify potential challenges or hazards, contributing to proactive solutions

- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and fostering a culture of safety within the team
- Acquire and apply knowledge of industry standards, tools, and best practices related to solar installation, including electrical connections and troubleshooting techniques
- Perform site cleanup and organize tools and materials to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment
- Support operational efficiency by engaging in daily briefings, actively communicating any issues or concerns encountered during the installation process
- Assist with the documentation of project progress, ensuring that all work performed meets established quality standards and timelines
Requirements :
High school diploma or completion of a relevant technical program or vocational training in solar installation or electrical work is preferredBasic understanding of electrical systems and principles, including knowledge of photovoltaic technologyPrior experience in construction of roofing is advantageous, though not required; willingness to learn and adapt to the solar industry is essentialStrong commitment to workplace safety, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and practices as they pertain to rooftop work and solar installationsAbility to work at heights and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment and materialsExcellent communication and teamwork skills, fostering collaboration and a positive work environmentFamiliarity with hand and power tools commonly used in construction and solar installationCertification in First Aid / CPR, along with any relevant solar installation certifications (e.g., NABCEP Installer Certification), is a plusLegal Disclaimer
