Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Parkersburg, WV 26101 (West Virginia nursing jobs)

Facility Type : Acute Care Hospital – Cardiac Stepdown / MedSurg Observation Unit

Unit : 2N Observation (Telemetry, Cardiac Stepdown)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 4 / 2025 – End : 1 / 3 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (7p–7a), weekends as scheduled

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1880–$2020

Charting System : EPIC EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (or willingness to obtain West Virginia RN licensure)

Minimum 1 year recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or MedSurg nursing

BLS & ACLS certifications (AHA required)

Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips

Experience administering set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone drips

TR Bands experience preferred

Strong clinical skills in caring for pre / post cath, chest pain rule-outs, COPD, CHF, pacemakers, arrhythmias, and general MedSurg diagnoses

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in a busy 21-bed cardiac stepdown / observation unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips

Administer cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone) and other medications per physician orders

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including charge nurses and nurse aides

Perform EKGs, bladder scans, FSBS, ADLs, and vital signs

Support patients with Bipap and Cpap therapy

Float to other hospital units within nursing skillset as needed

Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical records

Adhere to facility dress code (Royal Blue scrubs)
