Overview

Senior Data Integration Engineer role at Oracle. The implementation engineering team helps utility partners integrate with the Opower platform and plays an essential technical role in implementing Opower's SaaS-based energy efficiency and customer engagement programs. You will work directly with utility partners' technical and project teams to integrate their data with the platform and to configure applications to meet program requirements, collaborating with product engineering and project management teams.

There is flexibility to work remotely full-time; otherwise teams are located in Oracle's Austin, TX, Redwood City, CA and Arlington, VA offices. You will join a team of engineers with diverse backgrounds, supported by standard company benefits and abundant learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with utility and internal project teams on data integrations for energy efficiency product implementations.
  • Explain technical specifications of Opower data integration and products, including highlighting risks to customer experience when requirements are not met.
  • Analyze, transform, and load utility-provided data to meet Opower data requirements for successful downstream communications and web experiences.
  • Develop tooling (in Ruby or Python) to improve cost and time efficiency of data integration and product implementations.
  • Configure and customize the existing data ingest platform to meet the specific needs of each utility client.
  • Develop a deep understanding of products and their data requirements and communicate them to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Improve speed and quality of data integrations by optimizing ingest processes and documenting workflows.
  • Provide leadership to offshore implementation teams to promote consistency across projects (methodology, data analysis, and custom integration solutions).

Qualifications

  • Expertise in writing effective SQL or Hive queries to analyze large relational datasets.
  • Experience writing data transformation scripts using ETL tools.
  • Strong focus on data quality with the ability to craft test plans aligned to integration and product requirements.
  • Proficient in Unix / Linux command-line with ability to perform advanced file searches and text manipulation.
  • Understanding of code versioning concepts and experience with tools like Git.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins CI / CD concepts and deployment tools like Nomad.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software applications involving APIs, databases, and frontend components.
  • Working knowledge of managing data in cloud environments (e.g., OCI, AWS).
  • Experience writing software tools using object-oriented programming.
  • Ability to adapt to changing information and craft solutions from multiple sources.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and resolve cross-team issues.
  • Experience with a Utility CIS system is a nice-to-have.
  • 8+ years of professional experience with 2 years in technical leadership; we are open to hiring at different levels if a better fit.

Details vary by location.

  • US Hiring Range : $87,000 - $178,100 per year; may be eligible for bonus and equity.
