The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children age 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.

Requirements

Two years of professional experience performing labor relations functions, including progressive responsibility with dispute resolution programs and internal complaints, grievance handling, or investigations, employee relations, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and Civil Rights programs.
Travel to surrounding areas, including overnight stays, for job responsibilities and to serve as an essential team member assisting with emergency operations as needed.

Position Summary
The position involves managing, coordinating, and carrying out technical functions of the Human Resource Office. It is a highly responsible professional position that necessitates the ability to perform a significant portion of duties assigned with minimum supervision, work well with staff and all levels of management, and provide excellent customer service.
The Work You Will Do
The employee in this position must perform independent and complex HR functions, including employee and labor-related functions that affect the efficient operation and management of the Human Resource Office. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following :
Direct Deposit Program
As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in State government is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
