Position Overview
Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a compassionate and motivated Restorative Rehab Aide to support residents in improving their functional abilities under the direction of a Physical Therapist. This dual-role position also includes performing all duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), ensuring comprehensive care and support for our geriatric population. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, adaptable, and committed to enhancing quality of life through restorative therapy and personal care. Ability to work Monday through Friday and rotate some weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer active / passive manual therapeutic exercises under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Instruct, motivate, and assist residents in improving functional activities such as transfers, ambulation, and ADLs.
- Monitor and report resident progress and changes in condition to nursing and therapy staff.
- Apply therapeutic modalities such as hot or cold packs as directed.
- Follow individualized resident care plans and participate in treatment planning.
- Perform all essential functions of a CNA, including personal care and support.
- Maintain accurate documentation and computer system access for assigned work areas.
- Participate in continuing education and staff development opportunities.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership.
Requirements
Education :
High school graduate or GED.Active Iowa Certified Nursing Assistant certification or eligibility on the Iowa Nurse Aide Registry.Completion of Dependent / Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporting within 6 months of hire and renewal every 5 years.Completion of annual mandatory education.Current BLS certification.Experience :
Prior experience as a Restorative Rehab Aide preferred.Required experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.Familiarity with physical therapy methods, techniques, and procedures.Skills :
