Overview

Kimley-Horn's Fort Worth, Texas (TX) office is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 3+ years of experience to join their Environmental team! This is not a remote position.

  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team on a variety of multidisciplinary projects (commercial development, renewable energy, power delivery, roadway, utilities, planning,
  • Our team is responsible for multiple levels of environmental due diligence and permitting, and this role will be a leader on these projects with opportunities to interface directly with clients and other stakeholders
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry-leading professionals, agencies, various jurisdictions, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the contract budget set by the client and demonstrate strong project management knowledge
  • Produce and / or lead the production of technical reports, permit submittals, and client meeting preparation.
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules
  • Lead field teams in aquatic resource delineations, listed species habitat assessments, Phase I ESAs, and other reconnaissance as necessitated by the project
  • Instill a sense of client service and urgency for projects in less experienced staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a given time and prioritize tasks and deadlines.

    Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience, including federal wetlands documentation and permitting
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Ecology, Botany, Biology, or a related field
  • Threatened and endangered species survey and / or consultation experience (preferred)
  • Certified Wildlife Biologist (preferred but not required)
  • Ecological field work experience including leading aquatic resource delineations, listed species habitat assessments, and / or Phase I ESAs
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills and experience writing detailed technical reports
  • Working knowledge or strong interest in ArcGIS
