About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Must-Have : Candidate must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position.

Description :

Small facility with a supportive unit manager.

No trauma experience required.

Candidates should expect to float to nearby facilities if needed.

Travel teams must have their own vehicles.

Natural hair color and no facial piercings are required.

Men must be clean-shaven for fit tests.

There is a pass / fail exam on the first day of orientation.

Study guides will be provided for preparation.

All RNs will be required to complete a skills lab for specific nursing procedures.

Competence in maintaining a sterile field is critical.

If candidates express unconfidence in essential skills, they may not be a suitable fit.

RNs will participate in educational sessions on various nursing practices.

Unit has 12 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4.

The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.

There will be a charge nurse, with no patient assignment unless census is high.

Weekend requirements include working two weekends each month.

Maintaining a positive culture and teamwork is essential.

RNs perform labs, EKGs, patient transfers, and additional tasks as needed.

Common diagnoses include lower acuity patients with symptoms like abdominal pain and headaches.

The primary goal is to stabilize and transfer critically ill patients.

Shifts generally run from 7 PM to 7 AM, with some variations possible.
