Litigation Associate

We are actively seeking to hire a litigation associate with at least 3 years of experience in general commercial, securities, business, and / or intellectual property litigation. A degree from a top‑tier law school is required, as well as California bar membership. The candidate must be capable of working and learning independently. The ideal candidate will also have large‑firm experience and subject‑matter expertise in intellectual property litigation.

Grellas Shah LLP’s commercial litigation practice spans general commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, securities litigation, cross‑border disputes, employment litigation, and international and domestic arbitration. The firm’s client base is mainly in the technology and financial services industries, but the firm also represents companies across a spectrum of industries in commercial litigation matters.

Qualifications

• JD from top‑tier law school
• Minimum 3 years of successful experience at a large firm handling commercial litigation; experience in trade secret, copyright or trademark litigation particularly helpful
• California bar membership
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Experience managing complex litigation : taking and defending depositions, arguing state and federal motions, drafting and responding to discovery, ESI and electronic discovery
• Proactive, entrepreneurial and resourceful; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Proven ability to develop strong client relationships and work effectively within a team‑oriented environment

Responsibilities

As a Litigation Associate, you will counsel clients, prepare pleadings, conduct discovery, argue motions, and support resolved litigation. You will work independently and as part of a collaborative team to deliver sophisticated litigation work.
