Shipping Clerk

Looking for a shipping clerk in the Whitsett area..

Hours & Pay : M-F 7 : 00am-4 : 00pm

$16hr

Responsibilities :

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, etc.
  • Prepare documents such as bills of lading or shipping orders to route materials.
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare product for shipping.
  • Record shipment data such as weight, charges, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or record keeping purposes.
  • Correspond with established representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
  • Deliver or route product as necessary using a hand truck.
  • Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
  • Locate, measure, and weigh various items for routing.
  • Perform any other tasks as required by management

Skills :

  • Prior experience in material handling is required.
  • Proficient with various computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Prior experience using various shipping programs such as FedEx.
  • Prior experience using data entry programming such as Syteline.
  • Prior experience operating various shipping tools such as hand trucks, tape dispensers, etc.
  • Be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Be able to read and comprehend work orders, pull sheets, bills of lading, etc.
  • Must be detail oriented
