Grounds Worker II
The Grounds Worker II provides technical work and direction in the upkeep of lawns and grounds surrounding facilities and structures for the North Carolina National Guard located in Raleigh, NC. Employee performs grounds maintenance tasks and provides oversight of the grounds maintenance contract. Work assignments involve the standard application of horticultural practices to include the maintenance of roads, drives, parking areas, removal of storm debris, snow and ice during inclement weather. These services also include the mixing and application of herbicide / pesticide chemicals, fertilizing, mulching, weeding, mowing, trimming, pruning, seeding and removal of dead foliage. Employee prepares requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment needed for grounds department and provides cost estimates for expenditures to maintain the grounds and equipment. Must be able to make minor mechanical adjustments to equipment such as tractors, mowers and other powered lawn equipment and ensures all grounds equipment has up to date service records and are cleaned / maintained regularly.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
