Norfolk Collegiate is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for middle school science from January through March 2026. The substitute will teach earth science and physical science courses and will be responsible for planning, instruction, and supervision of students in grades 6–8.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching science at the middle school level, demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills, and be committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Providing daily instruction and supervision of middle school science classes.
  • Implementing lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and adjusting as needed to support student learning.
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Managing assessments, grading, and communication with students and families during the assignment period.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and school administrators as needed to ensure continuity of instruction.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in science or education preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly in middle school science, preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with middle school students and supporting their academic and personal growth.
