Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Registered Nurse candidates for the Emergency Department will have the following job responsibilities :
- The Registered Nurse (RN) IIB position is a licensed staff nurse, an experienced clinician, functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice.
- The RN IIB position provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.
- The RN IIB position provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently which may include patients with varied and complex needs.
- This position communicates and collaborates with the physicians and interprofessional health care team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes.
- The RN IIB position demonstrates clinical competence when providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies, acting as a patient and family advocate in order to monitor and maintain patient rights.
- The RN IIB position assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility including but not limited to participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and possibly contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.
- This job code is reserved for RNs who are dedicated to an OR, ER or Cardiac Cath Lab department.

Registered Nurse candidates for the Emergency Department must meet the following minimum job qualifications :
1 year of acute care experience (within the last 3 years) Required. Trauma experience Preferred. ER and trauma experience is preferred but not required. If someone is coming from Med / Surg we would like to see at least three years RN experience, otherwise, one year of PCU, ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, etc, is good, within the last three years.Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, multistate or able to obtain licensure prior to start is requiredAssociate Degree, or Registered Nurse DiplomaAdvanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateNonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start datePALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateTrauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 60 months of employment start dateSalary Range : 27.72 - 34.32 (10 years of experience) - 39.60 (20 years of experience)
Shift Differentials : $4.25 / hr nightshift differential - $1.50 Specialty Differential
