- Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Supervisor
- to oversee clinic operations, surgical flow, and veterinary support staff.
This
- hands-on leadership role
- partners closely with our veterinarians to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care, adherence to legal and medical standards, and the continued professional growth of the veterinary team.
Extensive experience in
- High-Quality, High-Volume Spay and Neuter (HQHVSN)
- is required.
- ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership
- Lead the
- spay / neuter circuit
- , in collaboration with veterinarian, ensuring safe induction, prep, monitoring, and recovery of anesthesia for 40+ feline surgeries daily.
- Assist with additional procedures, including a variety of interventions and surgeries, complex anesthesia cases, and dentals.
- Conduct diagnostics : bloodwork, radiographs, cystocentesis, cytology, and in-house testing.
- Provide elevated nursing care (IV fluids, wound management, medication administration).
- Oversee the
- vaccine clinic
- , ensuring proper staffing and current vaccination guidelines.
- Maintain complete anesthesia logs and surgical records.
- Collaborate with veterinarians to implement and communicate
- Nine Lives protocols
- and best practices.
- Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and mentor all
- RVTs and Veterinary Assistants
- across surgery, prep, and recovery.
- Onboard and train
- new team members in technical standards, culture, and safety.
- Lead
- weekly training sessions
- to strengthen team skills and SOP compliance.
- Ensure adherence to
- Time & Attendance
- , communication, and professional conduct policies.
- Model a

- Operations & Compliance
- Maintain full compliance with
- DEA controlled substances
- OSHA

- California Veterinary Board
- regulations.
- Ensure all
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- are followed and documented daily.
- Manage pharmaceutical ordering, inventory, and controlled-substance logs within budget.
- Monitor and maintain safe, organized surgical and treatment areas.
- Collaborate with leadership to track KPIs and implement workflow improvements.
- Qualifications
- Active
- California RVT license
- (required).
- 3-5 years of HQHVSN experience
- (required).
- Strong knowledge of feline anesthesia, surgical flow, and postoperative care.
- Prior supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to teamwork, compliance, and compassionate care.
