Medical Assistant

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the provider with daily functions in running a fast paced pain care clinic along with providing general administrative support to the department. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts between the hours of 7 : 00am-5 : 00pm. This position requires traveling to several centers throughout the Twin Cities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities :

  • Patient Care
  • Greets patients and escorts patient to exam room
  • Takes and records patient vitals and temperature
  • Assists Provider (MD) or physician assistant (PA) in the room as needed
  • Enters patient past medical information and orders into RIS, find previous medical records and schedule appointments with follow up clinic
  • Communicates directly with supervisor regarding patient medications and possible contra-indications
  • Assists DTI department with prepping patients obtains oral or urine samples for patient drug screens
  • Administrative Support
  • Monitors the clinic schedule, assist with managing add on appointments as well as follow up appointments
  • Facilitates patient flow with direction from supervisor
  • Discharges the patient from the clinic with appropriate information and documentation
  • Calls or faxes in prescriptions
  • Contacts patients via telephone following up on patients that had pain management or narcotics to see if additional treatment or a follow up visit is needed
  • Documents all patient prep calls in RISLogic, Exemplo or aRies
  • Assembles next day's Clinical paperwork daily at assigned location
  • Handles all incoming calls from patients regarding past procedures or treatments with the guidance of the supervisor
  • Coordinates patient flow with scheduling and front office to fit in schedule add-ons
  • Maintains office supplies within department and stock room
  • Assists with cleaning exam room
  • Provides support to other team members as able daily

Required :

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • CPR certification
  • Minimum 1 year Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Ability to @type 40 wpm
  • Valid driver's license and transportation
  • Preferred :

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Bilingual Medical office experience and familiarity with radiologic procedures and medications
