• REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS : BLS, ACLS
• Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
• Management of vasoactive drips List typical procedures performed on unit(s) :
• Central Line or PICC line placement
• Chest tube placements Unit Specifics :
• Number of Beds : 36
• Patient Ratios : 1 : 3 AM, 1 : 4 AM or 1 : 4 PM, 1 : 5PM (with patient care techs) Patient ratios are estimated and not guaranteed
• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Typically, total RN based care with no techs unless stretched. Secretaries are scheduled 7am-7pm in the PCU and are available for a number of resources.
• Type of equipment : BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation system : Meditech
• Scheduling requirements : FT Staff : 36 hours / week with every 3rd weekend rotation, PT staff : 48 hours / week with every 3rd weekend rotation, PRN 1 Staff : 3 shifts in a 4-week period with 1 weekend shift requirement, PRN 2 Staff : 6 shifts in a 4-week period with 3 weekend shift requirements. Rotating holiday schedule.
• Floating policy : PRN floats 1 time per week, FT / PT staff floats in a rotation based upon dates, bonus shifts always float first
• Patient Experience requirements : Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds.
