Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with Cerner proficiency, IN or compact RN license, and strong ortho and robotics experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospital with 194 staffed bedsPatient populations include orthopedics, urology, general surgery, neurology, cardiothoracic, peripheral vascular, GYN, and roboticsUses DaVinci XI robotics for general surgery, GYN, urology, and thoracic proceduresRatios are 1 : 1 in the OR settingShift is 5x8 days, 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pmOn-call required with 4 night shifts per month, including weekday and weekend coverageWeekend shifts requiredFloating to other units or affiliate hospitals requiredUses Cerner EMR and experience is requiredResponsibilities include circulating in the OR, starting IVs, assisting with robotics, and performing orthopedic proceduresBoth teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferredBlack scrub bottoms with red tops requiredFree parking providedMust work 2 out of 3 major holidaysUp to 5 days of non-holiday requested time off will be auto-approved; additional time requires facility approvalLocal IN candidates accepted for surgical services positions, with adjusted pay rateFormer perm or PRN employees must be away for at least 12 months to be eligibleCandidates may be required to float within the facility or to an affiliated hospitalRequirements
Active IN or Compact RN license in hand prior to startMinimum of 2 years OR RN experience requiredCurrent BCLS certification required, ACLS and PALS preferredExperience with Cerner EMR requiredStrong orthopedic and DaVinci XI robotics experience requiredCirculating and IV start skills required; conscious sedation and craniotomy experience preferredGraduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing programOpen to first-time travelersMust provide two supervisor referencesBenefits
