NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Must-Have :

EPIC Experience Required.

Willingness to Float Between Units as Needed.

Description :

This position involves working in a unique care unit that sees a variety of patients.

Patients present with both urgent and non-urgent conditions.

Patients are typically more stable than those in emergency room settings.

Most patients will be discharged home, while some may require admission.

Appointments are scheduled based on calls received from patients’ primary teams or oncologists.

Patients may come from different areas of the facility or from home.

The unit fosters strong interpersonal relationships among staff members and provides a supportive environment.

Nurses will develop numerous skills and establish connections with patients in a less acute setting.

Common patient diagnoses include sickle cell crisis, fever, abdominal pain, uncontrolled pain, anemia, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration.

Interdisciplinary support is provided by various healthcare teams.

This role offers the opportunity to grow and develop professionally within a collaborative setting.
