Full-time

Be available to provide support Sunday to Saturday from 0001-2400 daily. The Department shall establish a schedule for personnel to perform services on various shifts, which range from 8-12 hours. Each shift shall include 30-60 minutes for lunch, which may vary depending on the section and / or specific shift assigned. Duty hours are expected to average 40 hours per week. To maintain access to systems, no personnel shall work less than five (5) shifts per month. Personnel shall not provide services at another institution within eight (8) hours of their scheduled shift. Unplanned or unannounced schedule changes may occur.

Job Qualifications

Special Qualifications : Personnel must be fully trained and qualified to provide a high level of quality services, as required for each position type. When hiring personnel, keep in mind that the stability and continuity of the workforce is essential and shall maintain an adequate workforce for uninterrupted performance.

  • Experience : Personnel must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years providing services as a Certified Phlebotomist.
  • Education : Personnel must be a graduate of an approved phlebotomy training program. Foreign medical graduates must pass the Educational Commission Foreign Medical Graduate (ECFMG) test, as given by the EFCMG. Personnel shall meet all Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements.
  • Certification : Personnel shall maintain current certification in phlebotomy from a national certifying agency (i.e., American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT), National Certification Agency (NCA)). All required certifications must remain current during the life of employment.
  • Personnel must have and maintain a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
