American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring critical care and Level 1 ICU experience with night shifts.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a hospital-based PACU within a Magnet-recognized, teaching, Level I Trauma CenterCares for adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric populationsAverage daily census is 70-90 with 38 patient baysRecovers a diverse range of surgical cases including neuro, ENT, plastics, ortho, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant (excludes open heart surgeries and liver transplants)Works night shift (3x12s, 19 : 00-07 : 30); no weekends, no call, no holidaysClinicians will float within their scope to meet hospital needsEPIC EMR is used throughout, and experience with EPIC is requiredUnit has its own PCT / transport teamResponsibilities include recovering post-operative patients, managing acute and complex cases, and providing critical care interventionsTravelers are expected to float as needed and may need to prepare pre-op patients during night shiftScrub color is navy bluePermanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as travelersAll travelers may stay up to 18 months before a mandatory 3-month breakNo more than 7 days of requested time off during a 13-week contract; no RTO allowed during the first week of orientationFit testing required; facial hair must allow for proper fitDaily parking is $15 or $70 per month\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or Compact RN license required at time of considerationBLS and ACLS certifications requiredAt least 2-3 years of Level 1 ICU experience requiredCritical care and inpatient experience including skills in dysrhythmia management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and the care of ventilated patientsExperience with Phase I PACU in a Level I Trauma Center preferredMust reside at least 75 miles from the facility (no local candidates)First-time travelers are acceptedEPIC charting system experience required\n Benefits\n
