The Banking Operations Assistant II plays a versatile role in supporting both back office and branch operations, including teller and new account activities. This position assists customers with a wide range of banking services, such as opening and maintaining deposit accounts, cashing checks, processing transactions, issuing cashier's checks, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role requires flexibility to float between departments and locations as needed, ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities include :
- Reconciliations in bank operations area
- Process ACH files
- Process wire requests from Banking Centers
- Online bank requests OAO - open account online
- Mobile deposit processing
- Ordering ATM cards
- Reg E debit card disputes
- FDICIA testing
- Audit new accounts - scanning legal docs
- Item Process Management
- Tracking data and preparation of weekly and monthly reports
- Assist in daily compliance with all bank regulations
- Works closely with management to ensure effective communication for implementation of all policy and procedures changes
- Assist customers in opening new accounts
- Direct customers in matching needs with products
- Obtain all necessary documentation for opening and maintaining customer accounts
- Be familiar with procedures, controls, and documentation requirements
- Order customer checks from printing vendor
- 2nd review of accounts file maintenance
- Pay and receive all bank customer transactions
- Verify identity, signature and funds within policy guidelines
- Maintain currency and coin supplies and be familiar with security / safety guidelines
- Comply with balancing procedures and policies
- Provide customer service assistance
- Assist customers in / out of safety deposit boxes
- Process and verify night depository and mail transactions
- Process stop payments, cash advances, changes of address and other special requests
- Process sales of official checks
- Perform duties as outlined in the BSA policy (CTR's and monetary instrument logs)
- Be welcoming, build rapport and provide outstanding service to the Bank customers while performing account transactions
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements :
2+ years of experience in banking operations and internal controlsKnowledge of banking data processing systems a plusProficient computer skills, including Word and Excel and 10 key by touchAbility to professionally interact with banking staff, IT, vendors and customersPrevious Teller experience is requiredNew Accounts Representative experience a plusPrevious experience handling and balancing cashIntermediate to advanced math skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work at multiple branch locationsThis position offers a full range of benefits including Health, Dental, and 401k.
