Work Location : Select Specialty Hospital - St. LouisRespiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, providing intensive respiratory care and patient transportEvaluates patient and recommends a treatment planExplains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patientsProvides necessary education upon discharging to homeConducts physician prescribed treatments operating various ventilatory equipmentPerforms chest physiotherapyPerforms suctioning of the patient by various methodsPerforms oximetry and capnography monitoring according to policyPerforms routine review of patient's chest x-raysPerforms 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognitionPerforms pulmonary function studies according to policyAssists with procedures relating to respiratory carePerforms adequate drainage of chest via PleurX catheter or similar devicePerforms tracheostomy care according to policyPerforms arterial puncture according to policyPerforms insertion and removal of endotracheal tubesPerforms set-up & self-test on all ventilatory equipmentAssists in facilitating preventative maintenance and repair of equipmentRecords all pertinent information of treatments and patient responseCommunicates with attending and pulmonary physiciansReports necessary information in hands-off communication during walking roundsMaintains accurate respiratory therapy chargingPerforms other duties as assignedAbout Premier Medical Staffing Services
