About the Opportunity
Pathway Talent Partners is engaged by a leading industrial and construction firm to identify a detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee operations in a mechanical fabrication environment. This role will lead the planning and execution of piping fabrication projects, ensuring that all deliverables meet safety, quality, budget, and scheduling targets.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge in piping systems and fabrication methods, along with a strong track record of coordinating across engineering, procurement, shop personnel, and client teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily project operations within the fabrication shop, ensuring effective planning, resource allocation, and on-time delivery
Interface with engineering, procurement, and field teams to align fabrication efforts with project specifications
Review technical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes to ensure compliance and fabrication accuracy
Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and report on key milestones
Oversee project budgets, cost controls, and change management to maintain financial performance
Supervise internal personnel and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are upheld
Serve as the primary point of contact for client updates and issue resolution
Implement and maintain quality control processes, documentation, and inspection protocols
Lead initiatives to enhance shop efficiency, material usage, and workflow optimization
Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety standards, and relevant industry codes (ASME, API, etc.)
Qualifications
5+ years of project management experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or mechanical construction
Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, welding techniques, materials, and relevant codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS, ASTM)
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field preferred (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management) or equivalent practical experience
Proficient in project management tools and scheduling software
Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with clear communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP or MRP systems for production and inventory tracking
Familiarity with BIM, CAD, and spool tracking platforms
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification
