Join the Emergency General Surgery team at the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center, OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC). Enjoy a collaborative and respectful team culture and grow your skills as a surgical First Assist : training & certification provided.

This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work on a busy and complex surgical service line, providing comprehensive care across the entire patient continuum—from initial consultation in emergency room through inpatient management, discharge planning, and outpatient follow-up in our surgery clinic. The APP will work closely and collaboratively with attending surgeons and general surgery residents, participating in daily rounds, assisting with bedside procedures, and contributing to the surgical management of acutely ill patients. Autonomy in patient care and strong interdisciplinary collaboration are central to this role.

APPs are also required to complete a First Assist course which is fully reimbursed by the institution. This is an excellent opportunity for providers seeking to develop or expand their acute surgical expertise in a fast-paced, educationally rich environment. APPs are actively involved in education, quality improvement, and research initiatives, contributing?to the advancement of surgical care.

Position Details :

  • One dayshift position (6a-6p)
  • Three nightshift positions (6p-6a)
  • Rotating holidays and weekends
  • $10,000 Sign-on Bonus

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education : Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant / Associate program

    Physician Assistant Board Certification (PA-C)

    Licensed to provide Physician Assistant Services in the State of Illinois

    Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Experience as a Provider in a surgical setting.

    First Assist experience and certification. OSF will provide and reimburse for First Assist training & certification if needed.

    $60.39 / Hourly - $73.68 / HourlyAdditional Compensation :
