A Brief Overview
As a member of the Legal Entity Reporting team, the Accounting Analyst will stay abreast of changes in reporting requirements and assist in preparing annual audited US GAAP financial statements and regulatory filings for assigned legal entities, will under reconcile, analyze, and prepare management reporting packages for the legal entities, in addition to providing support for the annual financial planning process, and participate in projects. This position enjoys a hybrid work model in our Chesterfield MO headquarters.
What You Will Do
- Coordinates and prepares the annual audited US GAAP financial statements and disclosures for assigned legal entities. Assist with coordinating responses to audit inquiries and support. Prepare quarterly US GAAP financial statements and regulatory returns for several legal entities.
- Creates management reports and provides support in preparing and reviewing financial plans for several legal entities.
- Performs month-end financial reporting functions including, but not limited to, preparing general ledger journal entries, creating various financial reports, analyzing data, and reconciling various general ledger accounts.
- Analyzes reporting of affiliated transactions to ensure proper reporting for consolidated and segment reporting.
- Prepares balance sheet and income statement analytics and reviews accounts for variances.
- Reviews and performs updates to SOX process documents and participate in SOX audits as needed.
- Works with other functional areas in RGA to achieve efficient and effective accounting practices and procedures and responds to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries. Recommends and assists in implementing process improvements.
- Coordinates and completes special projects, appropriately balancing priorities and deliverables.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent related work experience5-8 years financial accounting or auditing experience including GAAP experienceIntermediate Excel, and basic SQL / Query skills; Basic WordAbility to perform accounting analysis and provide recommendations of policies, and procedures and interpretations and applications.Advanced knowledge of accounting / finance theory and applications and Statutory and GAAP accounting.Ability to be flexible, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.Intermediate verbal and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables.Intermediate level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills.Ability to balance detail with departmental goals / objectives.Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.Ability to work well with all levels of management.Ability to work independently.Ability to foster customer service.Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects.What you can expect from RGA :

$76,100.00 - $108,050.00 Annual Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
