This is a hybrid role in our San Francisco office. If you do not currently live in the SF Bay Area, please confirm that you know this job is in-person and intend to move.

Hybrid / In-Office : 3 days per week

ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL DESIGNER

GENERAL SUMMARY :

The Technical Design team is committed to creating well-fitting and high-quality product for mom. We are looking for an Associate Technical Designer to support the Tech Design team. The Associate Technical Designer will have an opportunity to work with both the Ingrid & Isabel brand as well as our national brands

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Communicates daily via email with overseas vendors re : fit, specs, grading issues and construction via fit comments
  • Maintains and updates all technical files, tech packs, and tracking grids.
  • Schedules and communicates internal fittings based on sample flow
  • Prepares for daily fittings : measures fit samples, analyzes construction prior to fitting, analyzes discrepancies with Technical Designer prior to fittings
  • Record fit notes and design requested changes during fittings
  • Tracks and ships samples; receives and logs all incoming / outgoing samples
  • Maintains sample closet
  • Acts as trusted liaison between Tech, Design and Production teams

PEOPLE / ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS :

Works with : Director, Product Development Manager, Merchandising, Production, Various design related vendors and partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Knowledge of sewing & construction techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi task.
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to effectively influence.
  • Ability to convey necessary pattern corrections.
  • Strong computer skills :
  • 3D & digital pattern programs, (such as Optitex, Clo3D, Gerber, Lectra)
  • Cloud based PLM systems (such as WFX, Centric, WebPDM)
  • General business applications (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Zoom, Acrobat)
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • AA or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking. Technical Design, or equivalent.
