Teaches, delegates, and supervises other nursing staff in the provision of care. Coordinates services with other members of the healthcare team to provide complex patient care. Practices within the scope of the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act and Person Memorial Hospital policies / procedures / standards. This position requires working both days and night shift and does float to different departments within the hospital of the employees choosing, such as ICU, Med Surg or ED. The majority will be in House Supervision.\n\nReports to : Director of Nursing\n\nResponsibilities of the Position\n
- Providers Clinical Leadership\n
- Identifies and communicates appropriately all department needs and works with other towards resolution.\n
- Mentors' others to recognize changes in patient status and assists in the management of complex and or unpredictable patients.\n
- Delegates care based on the needs of the patients or staff competency / qualifications.\n
- Communicates with Manager and other healthcare providers in a timely and professional manner.\n
- Performs other functions as required or assigned.\n\nMinimum Education\n
- Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited school is required.\n
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.\n\nCertifications / Licenses\n
- Active and valid Registered Nurse License is required.\n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association upon hire.\n
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) is required within 90 days of hire.\n\nRequired Skills\n\nCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.\n\nMinimum Work Experience\n\n2-3 years of recent RN experience in a healthcare setting.\n\nEEOC Statement\n\nPerson Memorial Hospital ensures all job applicants and employees have equal employment opportunities.
