Overview
Cimarron is seeking an MBSE Architect to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area or at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Enterprise IT and Mission Operations Technology solutions, providing creative approaches to complex technical problems.
- Create and manage digital representations of complex systems using SysML to support design, analysis, and decision-making.
- Lead the adoption and implementation of MBSE practices across projects, ensuring effective integration into engineering tasks.
- Decompose cybersecurity system requirements into functional and logical architecture and allocate them to physical implementation.
- Develop and maintain accurate, standards-compliant system models and ensure requirements traceability within architecture models.
- Support milestone reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, and CDR with system architecture models.
- Apply state machine modeling and analysis to demonstrate dynamic system behavior and assess design decisions.
- Integrate MBSE with other digital engineering activities, including configuration management and simulation.
- Review and translate customer reference architecture models into internal architecture models.
- Continuously improve MBSE training, processes, and tools, and mentor engineers in MBSE practices.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams and foster strong customer relationships.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education

If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.Active Secret Clearance.8 or more years of general, full-time work experience.5 or more years of experience with systems engineering processes and tools.5 or more years of experience creating MBSE systems models in Cameo / NoMagic, IMB Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including iteration planning and status reporting.Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).Experience implementing model-based approaches on engineering projects and programs, ensuring seamless integration of delivered models within the receiving architecture and digital engineering platform.Ability to maintain a restricted badge and work on site at least four days per week.Possess, or be able to obtain within three months of start date, a current IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE).Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional – Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP-MBF) certification.INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering) Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.Ability to provide technical and programmatic recommendations on the development, integration, and use of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and structures.Experience leading technical teams or projects.Business Profile
