Responsibilities

Assist / perform sleep studies according to established policies and procedures under the supervision of the department director and clinical supervisor.

Perform all necessary exams and maintains documentation to ensure timely accurate results of procedures.

Communicate effectively with patients about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance.

Clean, sterilize, and dispose of equipment to maintain a safe patient environment.

Demonstrate ability to work in different age-specific patient populations while promoting the organizational patient safety program

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPGST), or Respiratory Therapist (RT / RRT) with SDS certification within 1 year.

Must obtain CPR / BLS prior to providing patient care

BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
