Apex is proud to partner with one of our premier clients, in search of a Tooling and Mold Technician in McPherson, KS who thrives on troubleshooting, and determining the correct actions to take to resolve the issues. Our client has been a leader in their industry for more than 50 years!

What you'll be doing :

  • Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with strong troubleshooting and planning abilities; consistently demonstrates efficiency and attention to detail
  • Capable of working independently and exercising sound judgment; self-motivated and proactive with strong forward planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with customers and team members across the organization.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications.
  • Strong team player with the ability to contribute in a collaborative environment.
  • Basic welding, spotting / benching, and machining experience preferred.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of injection molds and their components, including valve gates, hot runners, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to perform repairs as needed.
  • Must provide and maintain a personal set of essential tools required for the role.
  • What you bring to the table :

  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting injection molding and secondary equipment.
  • Solid understanding of plant machinery, including electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC systems.

    Proficient in interpreting complex technical instructions presented in mathematical, schematic, or diagram formats, and capable of solving both abstract and practical problems.

    Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from safety guidelines, equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and operational documents.

    Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and maintaining plant systems, with strong functional knowledge across mechanical and electronic components.
