Join our team! An industry leader since 1912, Lavelle Industries has a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Burlington, WI R&D team. The primary role of this position is being the product champion of all existing product models. In this position the candidate will learn, maintain, and improve established products lines. This will require a mix of hands-on testing, CAD modelling, calculations, and studies.
Responsibilities :
In this position the candidate will :
- Learn all existing products and perform engineering calculations to derive design intent.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of part evaluation and qualification.
- Update drawings, models, and assemblies using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Perform ECRs to update product as changes arise.
- Conduct product verification, competitive testing of products and associated data.
- Review parts against prints utilizing knowledge of CTQ’s (Criticals to Quality), standard dimensional tolerances, GD&T, and performance requirements.
- Trouble shoot and find root cause of products that do not comply with requirements.
- Communication cross functionally with other departments including sales and operations personnel.
- Utilize or design test equipment / gauges to provide product verification, validate product requirements and conduct competitive testing.

The successful candidate will have a blend of experience for this position :
