Overview
The only Level 1 Trauma Center in Central Illinois is seeking a dedicated Advance Practice Provider (APP) to join our dynamic Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Team. Work alongside 10 experienced APPs and 10 trauma surgeons in a collaborative, high-acuity environment that is also home to a highly respected surgery residency program. This role offers extensive opportunities to develop advanced clinical skill, including procedural experience and comprehensive management of acutely ill trauma and surgical patients in the Trauma Bay, Surgical ICU, and general medicine floors. APPs are actively involved in education, quality improvement, and research initiatives, contributing to the advancement of trauma care. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Education : Master's degree in nursing or at least an MSPAS / MPAS as well as a valid national PA certification or acute care APRN certification Federal DEA and IL Controlled Substance Current Basic Life Support certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Other requirements / information : ?Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to educate family and significant others on care as well as provide emotional support during crisis, deal effectively with physicians and residents, provide training and education to residents, medical students, and nurses Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to manage care of the critically ill adult patient
